Fin del Mundo in Putumayo is one of the most beautiful natural destinations in Colombia. It is located near Mocoa and it is famous for its amazing waterfalls and green mountains.

Many years ago, tourists used to visit this place only with local guides because it was not very well known. Today more travelers come to explore it, but it still feels peaceful and natural.

If you love nature and adventure, this place should definitely be on your Colombia travel bucket list.

MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

When I visited Fin del Mundo, I felt like I was discovering a secret place in the jungle. The hiking trail goes through the forest and you can hear birds and rivers along the way.

You have to walk up the trail to reach the waterfall, but the view is incredible. The waterfall falls from a very high cliff and creates a beautiful landscape.

You can sit down near the river and relax while listening to the water. Many visitors also take in the fresh air and the peaceful environment.

Sometimes you might come across colorful birds and small animals during the hike.

WHERE TO GO (Places to visit)

The most important place to visit is Fin del Mundo Waterfall. You must walk through the jungle trail to get there. The hike is long but very beautiful.

You can stop by some viewpoints along the path to enjoy the landscape and take pictures.

Another place you should visit is the natural river pools near the waterfall. You can jump in the water to cool off after the hike.

If you like adventure, you could go down near the waterfall area with a guide and experience the power of nature.

There are many activities you can enjoy in Fin del Mundo.

First, you should go hiking through the jungle trails. If you walk slowly and observe the forest, you see many plants and animals.

You can camp near the area and enjoy the sounds of nature at night.

You must try tacacho, a traditional food from the Amazon region.

If you visit during the rainy season, you will see stronger waterfalls and more water in the rivers, but is not a better experience. 

TRAVEL TIPS

You should wear comfortable hiking shoes because the trail can be slippery.

You must bring water and snacks for the hike.

You have to start out early in the morning to have enough time to explore the area.

You might want to bring a rain jacket because the weather in the jungle can change quickly.
